The need for stories about black history remains
- Then there is the poor argument that Black History Month is no longer needed; maybe never was. The Civil Rights Act, after all, was passed more than 50 years ago. A black man was elected president. Inequality no longer exists, the argument goes, so Black History Month is unnecessary and divides us.
